KPKP Agency Holds Healthy Food Webinar

The Jakarta Maritime, Agricultural and Food Security (KPKP) Agency held a webinar with the theme 'Sehat Berawal dari Pangan Segar' (Health Begins with Fresh Food) at Lottemart Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta, on Friday (1/8).

In this webinar, the speakers will explain the characteristics and tricks of choosing fresh and healthy food

The webinar was held in collaboration between the Food and Drug Monitoring Agency (BPOM) and the Jakarta Health Agency (Dinkes).

Jakarta Dinkes Acting Head Suharini Eliawati said, the webinar is a form of education for the public in choosing healthy food for families. Moreover, at the beginning of this year, there were rumors of synthetic ayam ungkep (braised chicken) and colored red chilies.

"In this webinar, the speakers will explain the characteristics and tricks of choosing fresh and healthy food," she said.

Regarding the issue of colored chilies and ayam ungkep, her party had deployed personnel to the field to hold food inspections in traditional and modern markets.

North Jakarta Mayor Sigit Wijatmoko added, there were two strategic issues regarding food. The first was about stock availability, which was related to market prices.

"Second, food safety. So it must be ensured that food is healthy and of good quality," he asserted.

According to him, the quality of food during the pandemic was very important for families. It was because the healthy and nutritious food would increase immunity and minimize the potential for exposure to COVID-19.
